Calcium Silicate

Calcium silicate (Ca2SiO4 / Ca2SiO3) is a naturally occurring mineral (not mixed) which adjusts soil acidity similar to lime with the added benefit of silicon which strengthens the cell walls in plants and helps the plant resist pests and diseases.

Additionally, silicon helps improve plant tolerance to environmental stresses such as heat, drought, frost, and disease pressure. Calcium silicate also supplies calcium, supporting strong plant structure, reducing lodging, and improving overall crop performance. As a soil amendment, it helps manage soil acidity, enhances aeration and water infiltration, and supports long‑term soil health, making it a sustainable alternative to traditional lime or gypsum.

Beyond its agricultural benefits, calcium silicate is also used in stock feed. It provides a reliable source of calcium to support bone development, milk production, and eggshell strength, while also acting as an anti‑caking agent in mineral premixes to ensure consistent, free‑flowing feed. This makes calcium silicate a versatile solution for crop, pasture, and livestock nutrition systems.
